Georgia’s 22 SFI program participants work with other landowners, logging contractors, government agencies and conservation groups to improve the practice of forestry in Georgia and to ensure that SFI principles are being applied to their operations. All SFI program participants are represented on the SFI Implementation Committee (SIC) in Georgia. The SIC provides a framework to implement key SFI program objectives in the state.
The SFI program in North America includes 200 program participants and 107.8 million acres. About 80 percent of the acreage has been third-party certified or is pending certification.
